As part of One Vision : Doing Drama - Dangerously

Born in 1942 (Northumberland, England), Ruth Caleb worked during fifty years for the BBC. Starting at the bottom rung of the production ladder, she became Head of Drama BBC Wales, Head of BBC Drama in London and BBC Executive. Afterwards, she returned to her first love : producing. She worked on, England Expects, A Short Stay in Switzerland, among other great, fact-based and controversial productions. Her commitment to change the world through her work has been rewarded several times: she won the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards and an Order of the British Empire from the Queen.

For his masterclass: “Composing for The Young Pope: methods and challenges”

Lele Marchitelli is an Italian composer who worked with Paolo Sorrentino on his Oscar-awarded movie in Best Foreign Picture, La Grande Bellezza (2014). He has also composed the original soundtrack for the first season of the TV series The Young Pope, directed by Paolo Sorrentino. Lele Marchitelli is currently working on composing the music for the next season.

Amir Chamdin is an award-winning filmmaker, renowned for his work across music videos, film and commercials. Highlights include MTV Best Video winner “You’re the Storm” for The Cardigans, the feature film sensation Cornelis - about one of Sweden’s greatest music legends and his romantic drama God Willing. Variety wrote of the film: “God Willing looks like no other Swedish film of recent years. This melancholy love story about two would-be lovers during a moment in 1975.”

Case study: Banking Districts

Jean-Marc Froehle founded Point Prod in 1996, a company that specialises in audiovisual productions of all formats (fiction, documentaries, streaming shows, magazines, TV, news). In 2005, the company created a fiction production and development unit (television and cinema), led by Jean-Marc Froehle. Point Prod has since established itself as a major player in the development, production and co-production of fiction in Switzerland, in partnership with Swiss and European broadcasters.

Case study: Guerrilla

Misan graduated in Biochemistry from St Andrews University. She qualified as a doctor and worked at Westminster Children’s Hospital. She began writing screenplays and her first feature length screenplay (the romantic comedy The Secret Laughter of Women) was financed and distributed by Handmade Films, starring Colin Firth and Nia Long. This was followed by her adaptation of Zora Neal Hurston’s Their Eyes were watching God for HBO, produced by Oprah Winfrey and starring Halle Berry. She then wrote the original screenplay Belle released by Fox Searchlight for which she was awarded the 2015 NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Motion Picture. The Belle script, nominated for a Humanitas Prize, was inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed-race daughter of a British admiral who was raised by her aristocratic aunt and uncle. Misan Sagay is a member of the Academy’s Class of 2016 and has written an episode of John Ridley’s new series for Sky, Guerrilla. She is currently writing an original 8-part drama series for the BBC and developing a new drama with ITV  Studios.

Ida Maria Rydén is a Danish screenwriter graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1999. Ida Maria Rydén has a long and broad record of scriptwriting – among others the sold out musical-success Love me tonight, the award winning play Das and the roadmovie Se Min Kjole. Latest Ida Maria Rydén was the creator of the Danish series Dicte season I-III. The series has just been sold for remake in France.

Dorthe Riis is a Danish producer having worked in DR Drama for more than 10 years developing and producing content for a wide range of platforms (TV, podcast and web). Lately Dorthe has mostly produced TV, among others the Christmas-show for the Danish comedy-group Rytteriet and the popular series The Girl with the Yellow Helmet for the children’s channel Ramasjang.

Case study: The Same Sky

Paula Milne is a British screenwriter, who studied at the Central School of Art and Design and at the Royal College of Art. She started working for television as a script reader and worked for the BBC as well. She created the hit show Angels, the political thriller Die Kinder and The Politician’s wife that has been rewarded with an Emmy and BAFTA among other great awards. She has carried on a brilliant career for TV, with some works for the film industry as well: Mad Love or I dreamed of Africa. Lately, she has created The Same Sky, a Netflix drama serial and she is developing other massive projects. She has recently won the UK Film Council and Women in Film and Television for her « outstanding contribution to screenwriting ».

Case study: Our time is now

Malin Nevander is a screenwriter, story editor and script consultant. She has written two films (Stella Nova, Von Broms Secret) in the feature film trilogy and box office hit Jerry Maya’s Detective Agency for Svensk Filmindustri (SF Studios). Before Malin joined the writing room of Our time is now she worked as a story editor and developer at SVT Drama, where she worked on various series such as Real Humans, Arne Dahl and The Bonus Family. Malin is also a returning lecturer at various film schools where she teaches the craft of writing TV-series.

Case study: Match

Martin Lund’s debut short film Home Game was selected for Sundance and Clermont-Ferrand, and played festivals all over the world. His debut feature Twigson Ties the Knot played the Generation program at the Berlinale 2010. His second feature, The Almost Man, world premiered at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2012 and took home the Crystal Globe for Best film. He also created the TV-series The Games that won Best Series at Prix Jeunesse 2014. The show has been remade in Canada and sold to more than 40 countries, and is now made into a grown up version called Match.

Case study: Guerrilla

Katie Swinden runs Fifty Fathoms with Patrick Spence. She recently executive produced Guerrilla for Sky Atlantic and Showtime. She also produced Marvellous, Fifty Fathoms’ debut production, in 2014. Prior to this, she produced RTS award-winning Peaky Blinders for BBC Two, and series one and two of the Emmy–nominated and RTS-winning Luther for BBC One. In between, she was made an Executive Producer at Left Bank Productions in 2011. Katie started her producing career in 2007 – following her work in development at Pearson Television and as a script editor for Yorkshire TV, BBC Drama and Kudos Film & Television –  when she produced the sixth and seventh seasons of Spooks [MI5 in the US], which received BAFTA and International Emmy nominations. She has also worked extensively with the Latimer Group, leading schemes to help young talent from non-traditional media backgrounds make their first steps into the industry. In December 2014, Katie received the ENVY Producer Award at the 2014 Women in Film and Television Awards for both her body of work, and her commitment to working with young people.

Following her training at the CEEA, Anna Fregonese has worked as a screenwriter and writing director for a number of animation series. In fiction, she created the M6 series Merci les enfants vont bien! and provided collection directing for the first season of Chante! for France 2. Since then, she has written for a number of leading series, notably Mes amis mes amours mes emmerdes (seasons 2, 3, 4 and 5). She also headed the writing of season 3 and is currently co-writing a miniseries for France 3, as well as her first full-length feature film, which has obtained storyline support from the CNC.

Fulvio Bernasconi is a director who was born in Lugano, Switzerland in 1969. He obtained a diploma in political science from the University of Geneva in 1991. In 1992, he enrolled in DAVI (Lausanne cinema school) and made a name for himself with Voie de Garage and Bad Trip to Mars. Fulvio Bernasconi has been working as a cinema and television director since 1997. His most recent feature-length film, Miséricorde, was released in September 2016. He has just finished shooting the series Banking Districts, about the end of banking privacy in Switzerland.

Geneva-born Stéphane holds a Bachelors’ degree in cinema and a Masters’ in language and literature. Her dissertation on Céline Sciamma’s teen trilogy received the gender studies prize Prix Genre 2016. After spending 10 years in production in New York, she co-wrote Vincent Pluss’ On dirait le Sud. Stéphane is the main author and scriptwriter for the children’s series Heidi, and is advancing her career through the creation of the series T’es pas la seule!. She has also written for Pique-Meurons and Waterfront Cities of the World (Ports d’attache). Her telefilm Déchaînées won the 2009 Swissperform prize. In theatre, she also co-directs the Compagnie Classique alongside Didier Nkebereza.

Olivier Broche is an actor, director, producer and animator who was involved in Les Deschiens on CANAL+. Most of his work is in the theatre, where he played well-known French film critic Jean-Louis Bory in Instants critiques, an adaptation of the series Le Masque et la Plume directed by François Morel. He has produced short films by the Larrieu brothers, Bertrand Bonello, Eugène Green and Sophie Fillières. He has also written and directed documentaries for television: one on Paul Reynaud and another on the great orchestras. He also acts as cinematic artistic adviser for La Comète.

Case study: Shadows of the Ferns

Ondrej Štindl (1966) is a Czech journalist, screenwriter and novelist. He has written movie and music reviews and social and political commentary for diverse publications since the mid nineties. His original screenplay for drama Walking Too Fast was awarded with Czech Lion for best screenplay in 2010. He also authored two critically acclaimed novels - Mondschein (2012) and Toward the Border (2016). Critically and popularily successful series Svet pod hlavou (Shadow of the Ferns, 2017), loosely based on British Life on Mars was his first work for television.

Mikko Pöllä (b.1975) has co-created Finland's most widespread scripted television formats ever : Black Widows and Easy Living that have gained remakes by HBO Europe and Viaplay among others. His work as writer and producer has been acknowledged with numerous national and international awards, including four "best drama series of the year" titles in Finland. Also, Mikko has also helped turn the gaming world phenomenon Angry Birds into an entertainment franchise, co-writing the Angry Birds Movie story.

Fleur graduated from the University of Utrech with a degree in film studies and art management and policies. She joined The Coproduction Office and Katapult Film Sales as a sale agent. Johanna Bergenstråhle is Senior Executive Producer, and currently Acting Head of Drama, for Scripted Programming at TV4 & C More, with upcoming projects including the Scandinavian thriller series Greyzone, action drama series Hamilton and financial thriller The Conductor from St Petersburg. Previous to TV4 & C More, Johanna produced numerous feature films and television series, including the Swedish-American sitcom Welcome to Sweden for TV4/eOne/NBC by production company Jarowskij, and the feature film trilogy and box office hit JerryMaya’s Detective Agency for Svensk Filmindustri (SF). At SF, she was also Deputy Head of Production and jointly produced the musical drama Shed No Tears. TV4, and its SVOD service C More, is one of the leading providers of drama in the Nordic Region. The network’s recent commissions include acclaimed crime drama Modus, currently in production of its second season, gangster dramedy Legbreakers, as well as upcoming thriller series Greyzone, action drama Hamilton and dramedy The Simple Heist.

Shariff attended the Netherlands Film and TV Academy based in Amsterdam. He started working for the film industry (De weg naar Cadiz, Geen Weg Terug, The Intruder) and did his first work for TV in 2013 with Mi Kulpa, followed by Penoza IV, Zwarte Tulp, and finally Klem (nominated “Gouden Kalf” for the best dramaseries) and Fenix in 2017. Giorgio Welter, a graduate of the Faculty of Political Sciences of Milan, has been working in audiovisual production for 20 years. He started with Saban as an assistant and production manager. In 2000, he joined Télé Images Kids as a producer. He has produced a large number of animated series, broadcasted all over the world: Normal Norman, Street Football, Sally Bollywood, Basketeers, The Ranch… He is also the original creator of some of the series he produced. In 2013, he left Télé Images to found Monello Productions, with Christian Davin and Tetra Media Studio. He is currently developing and producing animation series.

Case study: Guerrilla

Patrick runs Fifty Fathoms with Katie Swinden and started with the production of Marvellous in 2014 to the current Guerrilla for Sky Atlantic and Showtime. Patrick was until 2010 the Head of Drama, BBC NI, where he commissioned and executive produced the BAFTA, RTS, WGA, BPG and Prix Europa Award winning serial Occupation, and the BAFTA, RTS and Sundance Film Award winning single film Five minutes of heaven.  Previous credits as Executive Producer include Messiah, Waking the dead and Silent witness. His first job was as a Script Editor on Jimmy McGovern's Cracker.

In 1978 he founded Göteborg Film Festival and was the managing director up to 1994 when he went to the Swedish Film Institute, were he became the Head of the International Department.He has, since 1997, worked for Swedish Television (SVT). First as head of the drama department at SVT West in Gothenburg, then as Managing director for the same unit, Commissioning Editor for Drama, Film and Documentaries between 2004 and 2009 and then as an Executive Producer. Göran Danasten has more than 20 years of experience from the Swedish, European and American TV industry, covering drama production, reality production and rights management. He started his career at Swedish pubcaster SVT, where he held different roles within local drama production before moving on to international rights management and acquisitions. For almost ten years, he served as Head of Fiction at SVT, responsible for acquired drama and comedy. After a short stint at HBO Nordic, he worked as an independent consultant before returning to SVT and a newly installed position as developing producer of reality and factual programming. Félicia Viti is a young Corsican author who lives in Paris. Her passion for cinema and writing soon led her to study screenplay. After studying film and literature at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, she enrolled for the screenplay writing course offered by the Film-making and Audiovisual Graduate School (Ecole supérieur de réalisation et d’Audiovisuel, ESRA) where she wrote her first feature, L’Amazone - a historical fresco inspired by the life of Natalie Barney. During the years that followed she gained experience in French television production, working for Sama Productions and GMT Productions as a literary assistant and in stage production. It was in 2015, after a summer spent in Corsica, that she decided to take a chance and fulfill her dream of writing a series on Corsican youth culture. She wants to alter the image people have of Corsica, and to show the island as she sees it, beautiful, funny and full of whimsy. Back To Corsica is her first series project and is now in filming for France 3 Corse Viastella, with actual filming to commence this summer, in sync with the holiday season in Corsica. As for the future, she continues to seek to realise her dreams, and is currently in the process of writing an interactive series project, still natural and amusing, but this time taking place in Paris...

Oliver Hirschbiegel is a prominent German television and film director. His credits include Downfall, a critical and commercial triumph. As Content Development Director of Czech TV, a public broadcaster, Jan oversees a group of 15 creative producers and approximately 500 projects in development in all TV genres, including drama, entertainment, factual and documentary, as well as children programs. His team is responsible both for in-house development and production, as well as commissioning from independent producers. In addition, the development team also manages co-production of cinema projects and international co-productions and presales.
The development team creates all premiere, non-acquisition content for four channels, representing, for example, over 100 hours of drama per year. Since 1st of October 2015, Wim has been working as content manager for één (VRT), mainly focusing on drama series. Since he arrived at VRT 7 years ago, Wim has been working as an executive producer for the daily soap, THUIS. The soap has been on screen now for more than 20 years (195 episodes/year) and today has a daily market share of 45 %, still growing every year. Over 3800 episodes have already been broadcast. Wim came from an independent production company, Sylvester Productions, where he worked first as an event manager of mainly big public events for VRT. Later he became production assistant and producer of the weekly drama series Kinderen van Dewindt. Apart from that, Wim is convinced that our job is about storytelling and wants to learn from practices from all over the world how you can translate to or tell your story on any kind of media. Harold Apter began working on Broadway at the age of 18 as an assistant to Producer/Director Harold Prince. His career as a writer began on the daytime drama Ryan’s Hope for which he shares an Emmy with the 1982 -1983 writing team. He has been a writer, story editor, and/or producer on many hours of television including comedy, science fiction, drama and action. His credits include The Golden Girls, Star Trek, The Next Generation and Walker, Texas Ranger. He has written for every major American network and studio and his work continues to be seen around the world. Apter has written and served as a producer on feature films in Brazil and has been a consultant for Brazilian and Russian features and television. He was an adjunct professor at USC School of Cinematic Arts from 2008 to 2016 before joining the full time faculty of the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts as an Assistant Professor last fall. He has also taught classes in screenwriting in Moscow, Rio de Janeiro, Prague and Pristina, Kosovo. He is currently developing and serving as showrunner on The Lynching, a new drama series for Czech Television which will premiere in 2018. Apter is a member of the Writers Guild of America and holds a degree in Film and Television from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Throughout the years, Harald Hamrell has established himself as one of the most successful and well-known directors of mini-series and feature films in Sweden. He has directed and co-written many of the last decade’s most popular films and television series (Real Humans, Beck, etc.). As a teenager, Harald was already interested in making short films and when very young, acted in films and for television.

Masterclass : the new challenge of co-productions
Since 2010, Fernando López Puig has been head of drama for the Spanish public broadcaster, RTVE, where he is in charge of series such as Amar en Tiempos Revueltos, Águila Roja, Cuéntame, Los Misterios de Laura, Isabel, Gran Reserva, Acacias 38, El Caso and El Ministerio del Tiempo. He has developed many TV films and also heads the cinema department of the channel, with several of his films receiving international recognition and awards: Magical girl, Las Brujas de Zugarramurdi, REC 4, Loreak, Relatos Salvajes, Truman, Julieta and Tarde para la ira.

Liselott networks actively internationally as the President of the EBU Fiction Expert Group, a co-producer within the Northvision Drama group, a member of the International Emmy Academy and a board member the Nordic Film & TV Fund. She is a 6 time global TV conference Input drama moderator. On the feature film side she is an active partner of the Midnightsun Film festival. Liselott has written for TV and radio as well as for theatre and opera stages. She works in Swedish, FInnish and English and has a background as the Head of Fiction within the Swedish part of Yle. Narina graduated from McMaster University with a degree in molecular biology and genetics. Most of her writing came from academia while conducting research projects in the fields of molecular evolution and comparative physiology. Here she learned how to craft a compelling story out of troves of raw data. Eventually, Narina transitioned into the film industry to pursue her life-long passion for screenwriting. She now writes, directs and produces. Currently, she is developing a SciFi drama series, entitled Genesis, with ZDF Enterprises in Germany and Belladonna Productions New York, as well as a documentary series with Moog Media in Toronto, entitled Displaced.

Lotta Tejle, born 1960, is a Swedish actress. She is part of the ensemble at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, Sweden and has been active on stage throughout her career and has been awarded for her performances at several occasions. Susanne Müller joined ZDF in 1980. She spent more than twenty years in ZDF's Children's and Youth department, starting as a trainee and rising to become the Head of the department. From 2003 to 2006 she was Head of the New Media department of ZDF, responsible for the ZDF websites and working on their digital development. In 2006, she was appointed Vice President of North-American operations to head the New York office of ZDF Enterprises. In 2008, she became Head of Coproductions and Development at ZDF Enterprises in Mainz. Since July 2012, she is Executive Director Feature Films at ZDF. This role means that she is responsible for the acquisition and co-production of feature films and international drama series.

Jane Gogan has been Head of Drama at RTÉ since 2006. As well as commissioning drama from the independent sector and developing RTÉ’s co-production strategy for drama she also is responsible for Fair City, a serial drama produced within RTÉ which plays 200+ episodes a year. Digital content is of critical importance to RTÉ’s drama strategy and in that respect the drama department runs Storyland, an on-line drama outlet for new entrants to the industry. RTÉ commission a range of distinctive drama titles. Recent titles include gangland drama Love/Hate (W. Stuart Carolan) and three part political drama, Charlie (w. Colin Teevan) and 5 part drama set in Easter 1916, Rebellion, also written by Colin Teevan. Current and forthcoming dramas include returning legal drama Striking Out, Ron Hutchinson's conspiracy thriller, Acceptable Risk, and Colin Teevan's Resistance, a five part series set in 1920 during Ireland's War of Independence.

Trained as a political scientist, since 1989, Françoise Mayor has been working at RTS, initially in the Press Office from 1991 to 1994, followed by the Department for Drama Production where she was in charge of the development of projects and the production of television series, of the selection of co-productions of short films and Swiss feature films (on and off the big screen). Since January 2014, she has been the head of Drama Productions at RTS and is responsible for drama co-productions (cinema, tv, web). In 2006, in collaboration with the web team at RTS, she set up two websites dedicated to drama (www.rtsfiction.ch and www.moncinema.ch), an interactive virtual cinema 2.0. Françoise Mayor has collaborated with numerous television and film festivals, including the Festival Tous Ecrans in Geneva and the Festival of Locarno's Léopards of Tomorrow. She is a member of the Prix Genève Europe (www.ebu.com), which is organised by the UER/EBU within the Prix Europa.

Sevda Shishmanova has been a journalist, reporter, international correspondent of the Bulgarian National Television, and a documentary maker. In 2002, she won the Novartis International Journalism award of the John Hopkins University SAIS, and her documentary Pakistan – The Shadow of the War was selected for the main competition of FIPA (Biarritz film festival, France). She has been a member of the management board of BNT between 2004 and 2010, and has become Director of programming and film production of the channel. She has produced the first Bulgarian series with worldwide distribution, Undercover, which has already been sold in over 70 countries.

After a first experience in 2002 at TF1 International in Acquisition and International Coproductions, Thomas Saignes joined Telefilm Canada in Montreal as an Analyst for International Coproductions. After spending two years as head of Sales and Acquisitions at Montreal based sales company Attraction Image (Delphis at the time), he opened the European offices for Canadian power-house Transfilm International in quality of VP – Development & Production. Parallel to that he founded in 2011 his own financing-agency, sourcing and managing coproduction deals, local incentives and alternative financing sources on behalf of producers and groups located in France and abroad. Working on numerous co-productions he negotiated all types of pre-sales or financing agreements with public and private funds, in Europe, North America and China. Over four years the company packaged around 50M$ on more than a dozen movies and TV productions, and advised several investment funds. His expertise on private equity and VC, led him to successfully put together in May 2015 the first edition of the Investors Club with the Cannes film-market. He joined the Iris Group in June 2015 to act as Head of Business-Affairs in charge of all legal, commercial and financial aspects of our production and distribution activities. He also supervises the structuring of investment vehicles

Lars worked for Maersk for ten years before entering the National Film School of Denmark, from which he graduated as a producer in 1995. He has since produced films and held a number of management positions in the film business including that of CEO of regional film fund FilmFyn, where he invested in Susanne Bier’s In a Better World, which won a Golden Globe and the Academy Award for best foreign language film in 2011. As a producer he won a Swedish Guldbagga in 2001 for Jan Troell´s As White as in Snow. Lars is in charge of financing, legal and production matters.

Fanny Rondeau graduated in Communication and Human Resources section of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris (1992) and obtained a Master of Political Science in Political Sociology at the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (1993). From 1994 to 1996, she worked in an audiovisual consulting firm Initiative Film, specialized in artistic and production support of TV projects, film and animation. Since 1997 she devotes herself to TV fiction and became an artistic manager at Tanais Films, then from 1999 to 2003 an artistic producer at Pathé TV and from 2003 to 2005 at Gema Productions. She joins France 2 in 2005 as a program advisor within the fiction department. Furthermore, from 2005 to 2007 she is responsible for international coproductions and represents France Télévisions in the EBU and other institutions. She is in charge of many series, mini-series, TV movies including Fais fais pas ci, Fais pas ça, Les petits meurtres d'Agatha Christie and, most recently, Dix pour cent. Since late August 2016, she is Director of Fiction at France 2.

After studying journalism, Arnaud Malherbe works for seven years at L’Express, a news magazine, where he wrote about travels, trend, nightlife, adventure and cinema. A true lover of stories whether they are « true » or « false », Arnaud took a year off and attended the Screenplay workshop of the “Fémis” (National School of image and sound). He never went back to the office…He resigned and made the final jump in fiction writing. He writes for the television (one off drama and tv series), comic books, he directed three awardwinning short films, such as Dans leur peau, Best movie in Gérardmer Fantastic Film Festival, in 2008, and then wrote and directed his first movie for the tv channel Arte called Belleville Story (Best tv show award at the 2009 festival of La Rochelle). Then came a second tv movie, Chambre noire, in 2013, and he co-wrote and directed the tv series Chefs (6x52) for France 2 which aired in 2015 (saison 1) and 2016 (saison 2) the show gained both popular and critical acclaim. Arnaud is also working on a feature film, Ogres (Gloria films) and a new tv series for Arte, Moloch (Calt Studios), both projects are fantasy thrillers.

After graduating from law school and a stint in politics, Jean-André Yerlès became a screenwriter at the beginning of the century. He started with a first feature film script which never came to light, then started working for TV with detective stories written with the screenwriter Claire Lemaréchal. He met Laurent Chalumeau in 2004 with whom he co-wrote the short film Le Train for CANAL+. From 2006 on, he co-wrote the first 4 seasons of Fais pas ci Fais pas ça. In 2015 A very secret service for Arte, written with Jean-François Halin and Claire Lemaréchal. A season 2 is currently in writing. For cinema, he co-wrote a Portuguese comedy La Cage Dorée and in 2016 will be released a comedy Demain tout commence directed by Hugo Gélin. In 2010, he joined the screenwriters’ collective SAGA&CO, and founded, that same year, The Guilde Française des Scénaristes (French Screenwriters’ Guild). Since 2013, he has been a Board member of the Federation of Screenwriters in Europe (FSE). Like most screenwriters, he has written or co-written wonderful feature films and TV series.

After working as a sales person with the producer Yves-Rousset-Rouard, Jean-Marc became producer for Monique Arnaud (Chrysalide Films) who produced 12 romantic comedies with US actors for the international market.
He then wrote his first 90' comedy aired by CANAL+.For M6 and Marathon, he wrote and produced a 25 half hour drama shows entirely shot in South Africa (Indaba). He created, wrote and associate produced for France 2 (with Olivier Marvaud) 2 seasons of a crime series (B.R.I.G.A.D - the French swat). Since then he has written about 65 hours of drama to date (90' comedies and drama + many episodes for French TV series La Kiné, Les Monos, Alice Nevers… ) In 2003, he published a fiction novel, Les Rivages de Lumière (Editions Anne Carrière), now being adapted into a TV series. In 2009, (with T. Lasalle and ML David), he created Mes Amis, Mes Amours, Mes Emmerdes, a comedy series for TF1, which won a “Laurier” Best TV Series Award in 2011. Season 4 was aired in 2015. In 2013, he started Alauda Films (with the Makever group). He has produced Meurtres à l'Abbaye de Rouen and J'ai épousé un meurtrier (2016) and now develops several projects as an author/producer. After an extensive career in international documentary film Miryam van Lier (1965) became head of drama, youth programmes and performing arts at the Dutch Mediafund in 2009. She initiated several television projects, amongst which the dance film project Point Taken, the culturally diverse youth series Now or Never and more recently a new incentive for Dutch international drama series. Since 1988 she has worked as a writer and consultant in the cultural field. She is advisor for the Brabant C Fund and the Flemish Audiovisual Fund.

Anne Landois began her career as a screenwriter in 1994. Her interest in the judiciary world and thrillers is very present in her work, even though she also co-authored sentimental comedies for Belgian television. Her taste for judicial realism and field investigations came to the fore through the writing of various projects: Rendez-Moi Justice (France 3) and Spiral (CANAL+), whose season 5 received the Emmy Award for Best International Drama Series in 2015. She has just finished the writing and artistic production of season 5, which will be aired in Fall 2017.

After studying journalism, Arnaud Malherbe works for seven years at L’Express, a news magazine, where he wrote about travels, trend, nightlife, adventure and cinema. A true lover of stories whether they are « true » or « false », Arnaud took a year off and attended the Screenplay workshop of the “Fémis” (National School of image and sound). He never went back to the office…He resigned and made the final jump in fiction writing. He writes for the television (one off drama and tv series), comic books, he directed three awardwinning short films, such as Dans leur peau, Best movie in Gérardmer Fantastic Film Festival, in 2008, and then wrote and directed his first movie for the tv channel Arte called Belleville Story (Best tv show award at the 2009 festival of La Rochelle). Then came a second tv movie , Chambre noire, in 2013, and he co-wrote and directed the tv series Chefs (6x52) for France 2 which aired in 2015 (saison 1) and 2016 (saison 2) the show gained both popular and critical acclaim. Arnaud is also working on a feature film, Ogres (Gloria films) and a new tv series for Arte , Moloch (Calt Studios), both projects are fantasy thrillers.

After graduating from law school and a stint in politics, Jean-André Yerlès became a screenwriter at the beginning of the century. He started with a first feature film script which never came to light, then started working for TV with detective stories written with the screenwriter Claire Lemaréchal. He met Laurent Chalumeau in 2004 with whom he co-wrote the short film Le Train for CANAL+. From 2006 on, he co-wrote the first 4 seasons of Fais pas ci Fais pas ça. In 2015 A very secret service for Arte, written with Jean-François Halin and Claire Lemaréchal. A season 2 is currently in writing. For cinema, he co-wrote a Portuguese comedy La Cage Dorée and in 2016 will be released a comedy Demain tout commence directed by Hugo Gélin. In 2010, he joined the screenwriters’ collective SAGA&CO, and founded, that same year, The Guilde Française des Scénaristes (French Screenwriters’ Guild). Since 2013, he has been a Board member of the Federation of Screenwriters in Europe (FSE) . Like most screenwriters, he has written or co-written wonderful feature films and TV series.

After working as a sales person with the producer Yves-Rousset-Rouard, Jean-Marc became producer for Monique Arnaud (Chrysalide Films) who produced 12 romantic comedies with US actors for the international market.
He then wrote his first 90' comedy aired by CANAL+.
For M6 and Marathon, he wrote and produced a 25 half hour drama shows entirely shot in South Africa (Indaba).
He created, wrote and associate produced for France 2 (with Olivier Marvaud) 2 seasons of a crime series (B.R.I.G.A.D - the French swat). Since then he has written about 65 hours of drama to date (90' comedies and drama + many episodes for French TV series La Kiné, Les Monos, Alice Nevers… )
In 2003, he published a fiction novel, Les Rivages de Lumière (Editions Anne Carrière), now being adapted into a TV series. In 2009, (with T. Lasalle and ML David), he created Mes Amis, Mes Amours, Mes Emmerdes, a comedy series for TF1, which won a “Laurier” Best TV Series Award in 2011. Season 4 was aired in 2015.

Hervé Hadmar started his career as a graphic designer. He then worked for more than ten years in the advertising industry before starting to write and direct, first, feature films (Comme Un Poisson Hors De L'Eau), and then series: Les Oubliées (France Télévisions), Pigalle La Nuit, (CANAL+), Au-delà des Murs (Arte) and Les Témoins 1 and 2 (France 2). After studying International Affairs at Sciences Po (Paris) and Columbia University (New York), Claire Lemaréchal started to work for documentaries before moving to fiction writing. Since she left CEEA (French screenwriting school) in 1997, she has been writing mostly for television, in various genres : TV movies, one-hour dramas, (PJ, Le Lycée, Groupe Flag, Fais pas ci Fais pas ça, Maison close, Sam adapted from the Danish show Rita…), sitcom (H for CANAL+), a 8’ daily show shot “live” (Le Train for CANAL+)… For cinema, she wrote Sagan with Diane Kurys and La vie d’une autre with Sylvie Testud, and for the stage Célibataires with Rodolphe Sand and David Talbot. She co-produced Après moi le bonheur, the TV movie she wrote about the true story of a mother fighting for the future of her 4 children after her death, and is currently writing Season 2 of Very secret service with the same great partners as Season 1 (broadcast on Arte last year), Jean-François Halin and Jean-André Yerlès.

Pierre Zéni began his career on the editorial team of Telessone, hosting a weekly cultural programme and later, the daily news and election coverage, before becoming editor-in-chief. He then moved to TPS and Sorties en salles, a weekly programme of cinema news, which won the ITEMS best cinema magazine and best host. Lastly, for the CANAL+ Group he took part in creating television for the Cannes Film Festival, which he continues to host today and he also developed the magazine accompanying the channels CINECINEMA and CINE INFO. Since then, he has been assistant director of programmes and editor-in-chief of the CINE+ channels, CANAL+’s cinema channels and he hosts, amongst others, Face au Film.

Charline de Lépine was an associate producer at Son et Lumière for 16 years and produced many one-off dramas and series, of which Avocats et Associés and Engrenages (Spiral). In 2006, she set up the Macondo company, focusing on quality drama. After several one-off dramas and miniseries, Macondo successfully produced Les Hommes de L’Ombre, the first series on the world of French politics (season 3 in post production this summer). At present, Charline de Lépine is developing a new series on the world of television during the ‘60s, focusing on the emancipation of women: Speakrines.

Graduated of one of France’s leading business school, Abed Laraqui has completed his formation by a Master’s degree “Cinema, Television and New Media” at La Sorbonne university. He then has worked for the studies and marketing departments of different TV channels (CANAL+ and beIN SPORTS) and media agencies (Omnicom Media Group). In 2016, Abed has joined Eurodata TV Worldwide which analyses trends and supplies audience ratings for television programmes on over 7000 channels across 5 continents. Abed manages studies of consumer trends and TV programming in the world, from fiction to entertainment formats.

Philippe Triboit began his career as an assistant director and a screenwriter for both cinema and television. Today he alternates between creating TV series (Avocats et Associés, Engrenages / Spiral, La Commune, Un Village Français…) and directing and writing for one-off, many of them award-winning. He now works in partnership with Frédéric Krivine at Terego, and he is also the co-producer of Un Village Français along with Tetra Media. He has recently directed several episodes of Guyane for CANAL+.
